About

How Greenpeace’s 25 Mile Challenge works

Our 25 Mile Challenge is your chance to get fit, get out into nature and Protect What You Love this autumn. You can sign up as an individual, or challenge your friends to take part and create a team.

When you register, you'll create your very own fundraising page to collect sponsorship and track your miles. As you hit fitness and fundraising milestones, you’ll be rewarded with digital badges on your page. Can you achieve them all?!

Once you’ve raised £10, we’ll send you a free ‘Protect What You Love’ Greenpeace T-shirt to wear while taking part, and an activity poster to help track your miles at home (if you’d like one).

Remember to share your page with friends and family so they can see your progress and sponsor you for taking part!

Register today

It only takes a minute to sign up via our simple registration form. Take part on your own, with family (and pets!) or as a team. All abilities are welcome.

Raise money

Set your own goal and start fundraising to protect this beautiful world we call home. Once you’ve raised £10, we’ll send you a free Greenpeace T-shirt to wear while you complete the challenge, and an activity poster to track your miles (optional).

Walk, run, swim or wheel

Complete the 25 Mile challenge this October in a way that suits you. Walk, run, swim or wheel 25 miles – in a month, a week or a day! Get outside this autumn, feel great and protect what you love, for who you love.

  • Get your step count up
  • Spend quality time in nature
  • Join a like-minded community
  • Spend time with friends, family and pets!
  • Reduce carbon emissions in your daily routines
  • Help protect our world and make a brighter future possible

Where your money goes

To protect our independence, we won’t take money from companies or governments, so we rely on people like you for everything we do.

Protecting oceans

Healthy oceans are essential for our survival, yet less than 1% of global oceans are properly protected. In 2023, people power won a historic Global Ocean Treaty, which promises to protect at least 30% of our oceans by 2030. Your support can help call on the UK Government to urgently pass this treaty into law at home, and to support proposals to create vast ocean sanctuaries on the high seas.

Defending forests

Forests help regulate the Earth's climate by storing billions of tonnes of CO2. They are home to Indigenous People, and critical for the livelihoods of millions of people. Many precious and endangered species of animals live there. But rainforests and other vital ecosystems in South America are being destroyed at an alarming rate to grow soya to feed chicken, pigs and cattle around the world, and for cattle grazing. Your support can help our campaigns to stop the destruction of rainforests and protect Indigenous lands.

Fighting climate change

Climate change is happening now, and it’s the most serious threat to life on our planet. The impact of heatwaves, wildfires, droughts, storms, floods and sea-level rise is already devastating for many communities around the world. Your support will help Greenpeace stand up to governments and polluting corporations, to demand they take accountability for decades of profiting from climate injustice, and pay for the loss and damage they’ve caused.

This October, take on the 25 Mile Challenge

It’s easy to take part. Walk, run, swim or wheel 25 miles in October and ask your friends and family to sponsor you to help Protect What You Love, for who you love!
